Area 12-- renamed Area L by 1940, was the Area Territory that corresponded to BSA Region 8. It included all lodges in Iowa, Kansas, and Missouri.
By Dec. 1942, it was renamed Area Q, while the portion of Area J that included northern Illinois and Pokagon 110 in northwest Indiana became the new Area L.
