At the 1992 BSA annual meeting, it was announced that the then Six Region structure would be consolidated into Four Regions. In July of 1993, eight lodges from NC-1 and three lodges from SC-4 were reassigned to the Western Region and formed Section W-5A. With the exception of Section W-3C, conclaves under the new realignment were held that same year.
