In 1982, areas in the Southeast Region were reorganized. Conclaves under the new sections were held that same year, except for Section 5, in which both the "old" and "new" sections held conclaves.

Section SE-1 was split into SE-8 and SE-9. That same year they held a joint conclave, hosted by Nentego 20 at Camp Rodney (the patch was ordered before SE-1 split), as well a joint indian seminar that September. The patch for this seminar is the only patch that ever showed SE-9, because in 1983 all five lodges from SE-9 were transferred to the Northeast Region.

Section SE-3B, the "Dixie Fellowship," gains Bob White 87 and Tomo Chi-Chi 119 (from the old Section 5) is renamed SE-5. Three lodges, Itibapishe Iti Hollo 188, Catawba 459, and Eswau Huppeday 560, are transferred to SE-7.
