My husband Dale had given me a wooden plaque with a cute fuzzy white kitten on it. I hung it over the kitchen sink. It was there for quite a long time. We had Cloudy Kitty, and Caesar, but the more I saw this picture of a cuddly white kitty the more I wanted one.
I told my elderly best friend Dolores about what I wanted. A day or so later, she told me her nephew had a cat that had been rescued, but he could not keep. So hubby and I took a trip over to see her.
The first time I ever saw her, she had this big lumpy fur ball on her side, and I thought to myself Oh, I don't know. At that moment she went tearing off the couch for several minutes and then came tearing back in with that big lumpy fur ball in her mouth! As if to say, "I can be still be pretty!" It was at that moment I fell in love, and said we would take her home with us. On the way home I discovered she has one blue eye and one green eye, which has always fascinated me to this day.
Miss Cuddles used to be Cloudy Kitty's girlfriend, but when Camellia came into the house the cat politics changed, and more and more Miss Cuddles wanted to be in the bedroom with us. She's always been a sweet girl, and on more than one occasion has actually gotten in someone's face to protect me from what she perceived to be a threat.
Since she has gotten older she has gone deaf which is really sad to me. But we have songs that we sing to our animals at night when we go to bed. Not every animal every night, we try to spread it out. But sometimes all of them.
Because she is deaf, I will pick her up and put my neck on hers and sing so she can hear my vocal cords move. She must know because she purrs. She also has hyperthyroid, and we thought for a while we might loose her. The medicine seems to be doing well and she is eating again, and her eyes look brighter. Everyday is a blessing for her to still be here. --Patty
