The story of BooBoo (Cottontail)

Our last dog was a Yorkie that Patty had been given. His name was Caesar. After Caesar was gone, as Patty describes it, "my arms were lonely." So we decided to get another dog, another Yorkie. We saw an ad in the paper for a Yorkie for $300-- which is much less expensive than normal. We both thought, "Let's go!"

We met the owner of Cottontail. BooBoo was only 8 weeks old, & for some reason, we weren't allowed to see the mother. Time would tell us why later. Patty named our new dog Cottontail, because he had a little bit of white on his tail.

Two weeks later, we discovered the reason we had not seen the mother. Someone had remarked that Cottontail was "a cute little Dachshund." Now we knew. He was part Yorkie & part Dachshund.

A few weeks later, we found out we were wrong about BooBoo's lineage. We were looking in a book of dogs, & came across pictures of a Beagle. We both said, "That's him!" Booboo is part Yorkie, part Beagle.

So, the story about us wanting to return Cottontail because he was NOT a Yorkie is true. But we decided that he was too adorable to give up. He has been my pride and joy for 9 years. He smiles, he sees ghosts in the house, and he does flips. He is my little boy. He is the oldest of our pets. --Dale
