COUNCIL TERRITORY


French Creek Council oversees the Boy Scout program in a five county area in Northwestern Pennsylvania. Headquartered in the sprawling metropolis of Erie, the council administers four districts:

Oliver Perry District-- named after Commodore Oliver Hazard Perry, hero of the Battle of Lake Erie (1813).

Crawford District-- (unknown etymoloy: someone please submit).
[Crawford country, minus Titusville]
Custaloga District-- named after Chief Custaloga, a chief of the Iroquois(?), who established a town at the junction of French and Deer Creeks, which is also were Custaloga Town Scout Reservation is located.
[Mercer county, and Brookfield, OH]
Col. Drake District-- named after the famous pioneer who drilled the first commercial oil well in Titusville in 1888.
