Langundowi Lodge #46 is the result of the merger of three councils and their respective lodges in Northwestern Pennsylvania. On April 6, 1972, representatives from the Washington Trail Council, Custaloga Council, and Col. Drake Council met in Meadville and formed the French Creek Council. As a result, Eriez Lodge #46 (1929), Hoh-Squa-Sa-Gah-Da Lodge #251 (1943), and Skanondo Inyan Lodge #256 (1944) merged to form Langundowi Lodge. The new lodge held its first Fall Conclave at Camp Coffman, where the new name was chosen from a list submitted by lodge members. Translated, Langundowi means "the Peaceful One", and for that reason the Iroquois Great Tree of Peace was chosen as the lodge totem.

Since that first meeting, Langundowi has made great strides in becoming a nationally recognized lodge. We are well known throughout Section Five in Western Pennsylvania and are well represented at the National Leadership Seminars and especially at the National Conferences. Langundowi has actively participated in each of these areas and has created a great deal of fellowship and brotherhood with other lodges around the country.

Each year, Langundowi Lodge also provides three conclaves, a family banquet, and two ordeal weekends to welcome our new brothers into the Order. We offer a wide variety of events and activities so that our brothers can experience the spirit of fellowship and offer cheerful service to our camp, Custaloga Town Scout Reservation.

To keep our 600 lodge members informed of upcoming events, the Langundowi Logis published five times a year. Through committee reports, officer columns, and regular articles, our members are kept up to date with our many lodge activities.

Through participation at the National Leadership Seminars and training at Section Conclaves, as well as our own annual Leadership Development Training Conference, our leadership is among the best trained in the country. Our lodge's growth in recent years has instilled a strong feeling of brotherhood between the many geographic centers of our council, and as a result, Langundowi is well known for its large amount of enthusiasm and lodge spirit.
