  • Pinellas Area Council changed its name to West Central Florida Council #89

    Effective: 1979

  • As a result of the Torrijos-Carter Panama Canal Treaty of 1977, the Panama Canal Zone ceased to exist on October 1, 1979. As a result, that year the Canal Zone Council changed its name to Panama Canal Council #801.
    Effective: 1979
